Ans.) The Telangana Cooperative Societies Act 1964 is formulated to give support in the form of guidance, regulation of the societies and intervention in the governance of Cooperative Societies, if required. The Telangana Mutually Aided Cooperative Societies Act 1995 aims at promoting self reliant, responsible, accountable cooperative societies with more autonomy.

Ans.) HOD’s of certain departments delegated with the powers of the Registrar as per GO.MS no 6 viz..Director of Fisheries, Director of Animal husbandry etc..

Ans.) 1) Registration of Cooperative Societies.
2) Renewal of Cooperative Societies.
3) Amendment of Bye-laws of the Cooperative societies.
4) Conduct of elections through the State Cooperative Election Authority, Telangana.
5) Conduct of Audit of the accounts of the Cooperative Societies and issue of Audit Certificates.
6) Redressal of grievances of the Cooperative Societies by ordering inquiries and inspections.
7) Settlement of disputes by execution of decisions decrees and orders.
8) Capacity Building by providing training through institutions like Telangana State Cooperative Union, the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad and the CTI TSCOB to the staff and members of the Cooperative Societies.
9) Financial assistance and inputs to the Cooperative Societies through the financial institutions like the NABARD, the TSCOB and the District Central Cooperative Banks etc.
10) Winding up and liquidation of Cooperative Societies.

Ans.) Any disputes among members, past members, between a member and society, its committee or any officer, agent, or any employee of the society or between the society or its committee or between society and any other society. The disputes are referred for the decision of the Registrar on matters touching constitution, management or business of a society. Any dispute relating to elections is referred for decision to the Tribunal as prescribed in the Act.
